CHRUDIM/BUDAPEST. Traders in Turkey are seizing on the different production prospects in the Czech Repblic by raising their prices.

Uncertainty is spreading

Towards the end of last week reports were circulating in the market that the hot weather has reduced the yields in the western parts of the Czech Republic to 600 kg per hectare. Contrary to this, the crop makes a good impression in the eastern parts of the country. More detailed information will be available next week. Market players are nevertheless reckoning with a maximum production 20,000 metric tonnes, in which case prices may rise to EUR 2.40-2.50 per kg FCA Czech Republic.
