CHRUDIM. Poppy farmers and traders in the Czech Republic continue to exercise restraint regarding offers for the new crop. The mood is now much more optimistic.

Farmers report that the damage caused by the drought is so far limited. Chances are that production will be promising. Acreage has increased sharply, and everything now depends on the weather. The rain over the last few days should have a positive impact on the plants. In addition, the weather forecast for the next few days is highly encouraging as sun and rain should provide ideal conditions.
