CHRUDIM. Rains have delayed sowing in the Czech Republic and have produced a considerable impact on prices.

Offers remain valid

Reports state that a great number of farmers cannot start sowing this week due to heavy rains. Traders are seizing the opportunity to keep the prices low for as long as they can, which is why the contract prices for 2018/19 are currently remaining stable at 1.65 EUR/kg DDP Germany. As soon as sowing is under way prices are set to rise to 1.80 EUR/kg DDP Germany.

Although the growers would like farmgate prices to rise as high as 2.50 EUR/kg, traders do not expect prices to rise to more than 2.00 EUR/kg in the long run.
