Large volumes have already been sold

Several pre-contracts at favourable prices prompted suppliers in the Czech Republic to ship large volumes overseas in the first two months of the season. The exact export figure will, however, only be issued towards the end of the year or the beginning of 2020. Market players reckon that the buyers required large volumes meaning that a supply squeeze may occure towards the end of the season - irrespective of farmers' willingness to sell.
