PRAG. The range of prices for blue poppy seeds in the market of the Czech Republic is enormous and those who have concluded good contracts with their suppliers are far ahead of the competition.

Poor calculations
Some suppliers had their estimates wrong at the beginning of the season and are now paying comparatively high prices for their raw seeds which is reflected in their sales prices. Others have set their plans more wisely which is why prices for blue poppy seeds from the Czech Republic can start from 1.22 EUR/kg DDP.
Within the next few weeks farmers will have to decide how much surface area they will allocate to blue poppy this year in order to make preparations for sowing in March and April. The result might give the market a push in one direction or another.
