DALIAN/KYIV. In China, the new crop has recently become available on the market. Ukrainian farmers have completed more than 70% of the harvest. EU countries have more than doubled their buckwheat imports.

New crop causes prices to fall

The new buckwheat crop has been available on the Chinese market for a few weeks now, which has caused prices to slowly decline. The main growing regions are Inner Mongolia and the provinces of Shanxi and Shaanxi. In addition, carry-over stocks from the 2024 crop are being reduced and imported goods are also in demand. This is helping to bridge the gap in demand until the majority of the new crop has arrived on the market.
