KYIV/DALIAN. In China, the area planted with buckwheat will witness another decline this year. Harvesting is underway in Ukraine. EU imports have surged.

Decline in planting area in China

In China, the farmers in prodcuing areas only have limited remaining sweet buckwheat stocks. Manufacturers are pruchasing according to demand, primarily relying on imported supplies. As ample volumes are being imported supply and demand are well balanced. Expectation, however, is that this year's planting area will witness another year-on-year decline.
