DALIAN. China witnessed differing price developments for buckwheat in December. Farmers and traders are reluctant to sell.

Reluctant to sell

Market participants report ample buckwheat grain supplies in China's primary production areas, though farmers and traders are reluctant to sell at low prices. Recent import volumes remained modest, with prices rising and underpinning domestic sweet buckwheat prices at the start of December. On the demand side, processors are purchasing according to requirement. The domestic supply-demand balance for sweet buckwheat remains stable, with the primary focus on import developments.
