Lower prices in China

At the beginning of the year, the Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture estimated the area under buckwheat cultivation for the 2025/2026 crop at 86,800 ha. In the first half of March, farmers have now started sowing spring crops and while the area under grains and pulses is expected to grow by a total of 62,000 ha to 5.764 million ha compared to last year, the forecast for the buckwheat crop has been further reduced. Sowing is currently estimated at 85,800 ha, while the acreage in the previous year was 88,800 ha.
