Cashews: Additional purchases to compensate for rise in exports

HANOI/NEW DELHI. The Tan Long Group from Vietnam intends to buy 176,000 metric tonnes of RCN from Tanzania. In view of the rising export figures for cashew kernels from Vietnam, these volumes are most certainly required..

Vietnam imports 940,000 metric tonnes of RCN

Although the exact logositcs of the Groups intended purchase from Tanzania still needs to be ascertained, experts are optimistic that the purchased RCN will easily find a buyer. Vietnam is the leading exporter for cashew kernels in the global market and imports large volumes of RCN from producing countries in Africa every year. From January to the end of July, RCN imports to Vietnam ranged at 940,000 metric tonnes  meaning that the monthly average ranges at 134,270 metric tonnes.
