NEW DELHI. India is in a difficult position as the country heavily relies on imports and the competition in the international market is becoming increasingly fierce. The main target markets are the US and Europe, but prospects may not be quite as bright this year.

They can sit back and wait for the prices to decline as soon as the new crop start to arrive. Consumer demand in 2018/19 is relatively stable. In the US and in Europe, however, a slower growth rate than usual has been recorded.
