NEW DELHI/HO CHI MINH CITY. Cambodia has gained shares in Vietnam’s raw cashew nut market. Buyers and sellers are still at loggerheads concerning kernel prices in Vietnam. Consumers do not like the recent price developments in India.

Cambodia remains top trading partner for Vietnam

Raw cashew nut prices are still strong and have not dropped yet. Vietnam is confronted with high prices, but since many of the offers are for lower-quality nuts with a count of around 40-44 lbs, there is not much trading happening there yet. RCN imports ranged 2% higher than last year in January-July with Cambodia maintaining its position as main trading partner for Vietnam. Imports from Côte d’Ivoire rose by a nominal 4%. Shipments from Nigeria and Ghana slumped by more than 30%.
