Cashews: Prices rise despite decline in exports

NEW DELHI. While the export rate for cashew kernels from India is declining, high upcountry demand is nevertheless causing prices to rise. Germany prefers to shop in Vietnam.

 

Price increase in October

In early October, traders in India raised their prices for cashew kernels markedly. Despite the price decline at the beginning of this week, the export prices for cashew kernels from India have nevertheless risen by 5-9% since last month, depending on variety.
