NEW DELHI/HO CHI MINH CITY. Weather conditions could hardly be better for the new cashew crop in Tanzania. Vietnamese processors had to close after losing money. Demand is up for the festive season in India.

Good conditions in Tanzania

Weather conditions are very good in Tanzania’s cashew-growing regions, with mostly dry days and light rain helping the fruit develop well. While the Cashew Nut Board of Tanzania (CBT) has set a high production target of over 750,000 mt for 2026/27, traders expect a more realistic figure of 600,000-625,000 mt. The new season is scheduled to start in late October or early November.
