Cashews: Rising prices expected

YAMOUSSOUKRO/NEW DELHI. The farmgate prices in the Côte D’Ivoire have been lowered this year to bring them into line with the world market prices. Meanwhile, the prices in India are rising again.

4 million mt of RCN in 2019

Instead of last year’s CFA 500, the farmers in the Côte d'Ivoire now only receive CFA 375 CFA. This reduction is driven by the good harvest prospects and the lower prices in the international market. The Cotton and Cashew Council estimates this year’s production at 800,000 mt, an increase of 5% over last year (761,000 mt).
