Coffee: Brazil expects record crop in 2018

Experts say that a record crop in 2018 can help the country to regain lost shares in the world market. Global supply to exceed demand.

 

SAO PAULO. Brazil is the world’s leading coffee producer and exporter. Conab expects output to rise as much as 30% this year to a record high of 58.5 million bags. According to Conab, the 2017 coffee crop in Brazil amounted to 45 million bags - 34.2 million bags of arabica and 10.7 million bags of robusta.
