BEIJING. Chinese growers and traders have hardly any beans from the old crop left in their warehouses. This is supporting prices on some markets, including mung beans. Red kidney beans, meanwhile, have become a little cheaper.

Growers in the north-eastern growing regions have once again indicated that they will increase the area under black kidney beans. They also report certain difficulties with loading, which can lead to delivery problems in addition to the increased freight costs.
