BEIJING. Chinese kidney beans are showing seasonal price fluctuations, whilst sales of adzuki beans are well underway. For mung beans, there is a growing focus on organic and quality characteristics.

Prices for black kidney beans follow a seasonal pattern. They reach their lowest point from August to September, by which time stocks from the old crop have largely been depleted and growers are reluctant to sell. From October to November, however, larger quantities of the new crop come onto the market, triggering a correction from the opening price.
