LODZ. Russian and Kazakh farmers are still not happy with their sowing, as delays will lead to a later harvest than usual.

Harvesting could be delayed by two to three weeks, especially in Russia. Since the fields that were already sown had problems with germination, the yields are also uncertain.

Prices are reliable

Prices for Eastern European flaxseed still remain stable, and cleaned seeds are being offered at the same price as last year at this time. In the last twelve months, prices have fluctuated on a level of 0.45-0.50 EUR/kg DDP Germany. Polish suppliers are busy with fulfilling ongoing contracts, and there are only occasional new requests for prompt deliveries. The market is already focussing on the new season, but only few suppliers are willing to take risks, so that there are no competitive offers for the new crop – it is still too early for that.
