LODZ. Normally, there should be more cleaned products from the current crop available on the market. This year, however, the market needs to be patient. There is little or no information about the new crop from Russia or Kazakhstan. Accordingly, wild rumours are circulating about possible quality issues. Other market players are, however, dismissing these rumours.

A race against time

According to traders, the fact that there is little information available from producers about the new crop is an indication that they are still exclusively engaged in harvesting. This is slowly developing into a race against time. The harvest must be completed before the first snow falls in Kazakhstan, which is quite possible at this time of year. Otherwise, disaster may strike. Acreage is, in addition, 30% larger this year Kazakhstan. Farmgate prices in Russia and Kazakhstan currently range at 295-310 EUR/mt FCA.
