LODZ/MOSCOW. Due to the high yields of the crop, experts reckon that Russia should be able to export 550,000 mt this season. The export volume, however, currently ranges well below last year.

High ambitions in Kazakhstan

The official production estimates for 2018/19 range at 933,500 mt and claim acreage to be 1.104 million ha. Kazakhstan has in other become the leading producer. The country is currently investing in the production of oilseeds in order to meet the rising demand in the international market and to secure market shares. The plan is to increase acreage to 3 million ha by 2021. According to market analysts at UkrAgroConsult, this goal is quite realistic.
