Flaxseed: EU imports down by 26% in July

ASTANA/OTTAWA. Larger acreages in the main producing countries is already easing pressure on flaxseed prices. Golden flaxseed remains in short supply for the time being.

Consistently larger acreage

According to data from the Chinese customs authorities, China imported a total of 588,238 mt of flaxseed in the first five months of this year (January-May 2025), representing an increase of 63.6% over the same period last year. Of this, Russia accounted for 461,668 mt, or around 78.5% of shipments. In addition, 113,138 mt came from Kazakhstan and 13,431 mt from Canada.
