ASTANA/KIEV. As UkrAgroConsult has recently reported Kazakhstan exported an absolute record volume in 2018/2019. Contrary to this, 2018/2019 was very much discouraging for suppliers in the Ukraine. Presently, harvest delays have been reported in Kazakhstan and traders are expecting notable shifts in prices.

Exports reach record high in Kazakhstan

Exports climbed to 468,000 metric tonnes between September 2018 and July 2019, which is a year-on-year rise of 31%. As UkrAgroConsult reports this sharp rise was prompted by a record production ranging above 1 million metric tonnes and stable demand in the main export destinations.

As much as 77% of shipments were destined for the EU, which remains the most important export market. Exports to the EU are up 42.5% over 2017/2018. Most notably exports from Kazakhstan to Estonia, Finland and Denmark revived again in 2018/2
