ASTANA/LODZ. Due to heavy rainfall harvesting had to be interrupted for several weeks in Kazakhstan. Although harvesting should be resumed next week at the latest, damages cannot be ruled out.

Farmers have to wait

Market players in Kazakhstan report that the farmers are forced to take a three-week break from harvesting until they can continue working in the fields. The heavy rainfall will most certainly cause crop damages, and the quality may is said to suffer too. At present, however, it is not yet possible to determine the exact extent of the damage. An assessment of the situation should be possible in two weeks.
