OTTAWA/LODZ. The production prospects in Canada and the USA are very promising. In the Black Sea region, however, the situation is different. Market players urge caution.

Improved conditions in Canada
In June, Agriculture and Agri Food Canada estimated acreage at 405,000 ha, an increase of 16.7% over last year. Although the drought in Saskatchewan, Canada's main producing region, is causing some headaches, reports now state that rain is benefiting the crops in many parts of the country. In any case, the producers are more optimistic now. Some market players even suggest that the official estimates may be too low.
