Flaxseed: Revised production estimates

OTTAWA/LODZ. The Canadian Ministry of Agriculture has published new estimates for 2017/ and for 2018/19.

 

Canada remains optimistic

Canada continues to reckon with a production of 615,000 mt in 2018/19. Exports are now, however, estimated lower at 450,000 mt. Domestic consumption is a low higher than previously expected and is estimated to amount to 185,000 mt in 2017/18. The estimates for 2018/19 appear very low at 40,000 mt. Consumption estimates, however, tend to be increased in the second half of the season and it is highly likely that this will also be the case in 2018/19.
