Flaxseed: Traders raise prices

LODZ. Following delays with the harvest, deliveries of the new crop from Eastern Europe are being postponed. The first shipments of cleaned seeds are not expected until mid-October. Germany has, meanwhile, increased imports from Russia in 2018.

 

Mixed prospects
In addition to the delays with the harvest, rumours of reduced quality have led to higher prices. Traders are currently offering the 2018 crop of flaxseed, brown, 99.9% purity from 470 EUR/mt DDP Germany. Buyers should expect higher prices for annual contracts.
