BRUSSELS. Wheat exports are still largely disrupted in the Black Sea. Corn is under attack. Soybean crushing capacities have risen in the US and in Brazil. Oil is driving rapeseed.

Wheat exports face severe disruptions

Following Moscow’s rejection of proposals for a ceasefire in the Black Sea last Thursday, exports remain severely disrupted. Russia’s wheat exports totalled 4.5 million mt from 1 July 2025 to 1 October 2026, marking a 63% decline on the same period in 2024/2025. In September, exports fell by 74% to 1.7 million mt. Russian grain terminals have virtually ground to a halt in Novorossiysk, Taman and Tuapse. The situation is similar in Ukraine.
