BRUSSELS. Gas and oil prices along with new EU production estimates are the main drivers for wheat, corn and soybeans and rapeseed this week.

EU wheat crop estimates cut

After two days of sharp declines, US markets closed higher again on Thursday. This was due to forecasts of dry weather in the southern US plains. According to the brokerage firm Allendale, US wheat acreage is also expected to fall from 45.3 million acres last year to 44.877 million acres this year. European wheat prices recovered slightly as investors feared higher inflation risks following heavy attacks on energy facilities in the Gulf countries.
