Groundnuts: sharp rise in shipments from India

NEW DELHI/FRANKFURT. Shipments to Germany declined sharply last year. Contrary to this, imports from India increased by 28%.

India ships 2,104 metric tonnes to Germany

Total shipments to Germany declined by 13% in January-November 2019 over the same period in 2018. They range at 95,295 metric tonnes. Whereas the imports from Argentina and the Netherlands declined sharply, the shipments from India rose by 28% to 2,104 metric tonnes.

At just over EUR 2 million (USD 2 million) the total value spent is nearly 2% less than in the first quarter of 2025 as data supplied by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) shows.
