Hazelnuts: Disagreement divides market

ORDU. The Turkish market is divided over the prices for raw hazelnuts for the new crop. There are also no concrete statements regarding the plans of the TMO.

 

Opinions differ over prices for the new crop
Based on current censuses, market players are currently expecting a crop of 650,000 mt in shell. A number of exporters are hard at work making covering purchases for the new season.

The TMO has not yet commented on the scope of possible purchasing measures for 2018/19. When it comes to the base price, however, traders' expectations are divided: From the current level of 12-13 TRY/kg, right up to 14-15 TRY/kg, no price is out of the question.
