ORDU. Market leader Ferrero have reportedly published a bid price for hazelnuts from the new crop even before the TMO have become active, which is causing discontent among growers.

What to do?
Turkish traders report that Ferrero announced bid prices at which the market leader is prepared to buy hazelnuts at the start of this week. The problem: their offered purchase price is 11.25-11.50 TRY/kg. Up to this point, growers and traders had hoped the TMO would set the base price at 14-15 TRY/kg and now face the decision of whether to sell to Ferrero at the price they are offering or whether to continue waiting for the TMO. According to reports, they intend to set the base prices by 20th August 2018.
