Hazelnuts: Growers hold back products

Insufficient raw nut supplies

Market players are beginning to wonder why there are only limited arrivals available. Although it is not unusual for growers to only sell small quantities at this time of year, this season has started two weeks earlier than usual, thus rendering the development somewhat unusual. Exporters seeking to purchase have the problem that there are not enough arrivals in the market. This has driven up farmgate prices to 13.00-14.00 TRY/kg.
