ORDU. The hazelnut market is characterised by uncertainty, which should last until the end of June. Ramadan has slowed down trading activities and the stronger Lira can only give limited support to export prices.

Quiet weeks will pass

Subdued trading activities caused a stable export market with slight upward tendencies last week, despite the stronger Turkish Lira. Turkey has exported almost 245,000 mt of hazelnuts since the beginning of the season and weekly exports amount to 5,000 mt on average. Due to the celebrations marking the end of Ramadan (14-17 June) this week will be short, and trading limited.
