Hazelnuts: price adjustments for small kernels

ORDU. Although demand is high for shipments later on in the season, the market in Turkey has so far only witnessed nominal price adjustments. Small kernels are, however, a noted exception.

The top exporters

Turkey has shipped nearly 185,000 metric tonnes of hazelnut kernels overseas since the start of the season. The most important exporting company in 2019 was Ferrero Fındık, followed by Durak Fındık and by Yavuz Gida, which was ranked 6th in 2018. Noor Findik scraped just past the top 10 in 2018, but is now ranked 10th.

Preparations are in high demand

While the lira traded in a stable range last week, a nominal rise in farmgate prices has prompted an upward correction in export prices for natural hazelnut kernels
