Hazelnuts: sellers intent on driving up prices

ORDU. Record exports and good domestic demand have put the sellers in the comfortable position of being able to set the prices. Their target price is TRY 20.00 per kg. The TMO is, in addition, set to become actove rather soon.

Ferrero not sufficiently covered

Last year Turkey exported a record volume of 169,000 metric tonnes. The previous record was reached in 2010 at 137,000 metric tonnes. Experts reckon that as much as 290,000-300,000 metric tonnes may be shipped this season. In addition, domestic demand is very good. Supplies should range aty 120,000-160,000 metric tonnes for the next eight months. The TMO is expected to start selling the 80,000 metric tonnes held before spring.
