Hazelnuts: Speculations drive up prices

ORDU. The Turkish hazelnut market is not calming down. While the Turkish lira is currently moving within a predictable range, unfortunately the same cannot be said of raw material prices.

Prices at a 2-year high
In the Turkish hazelnut market, raw material prices rose from 15.25 TRY/kg to 16.75 TRY/kg last week. The demand is stable and the weekly exports of 5,000-6,000 mt are in the usual range for this time of the year. Since the start of the season, about 160,000 mt hazelnut kernels have been delivered abroad.
