ORDU. The TMO has finally announced the prices it is prepared to offer for 2017.

Prices range above current level

The TMO offers a purchase price of 10.00 TRY/kg for Levantine hazelnuts and is prepared to buy Giresun hazelnuts for 10.50 TRY/kg. Although these prices are way below the desired farmgate prices of 15.00 TRY/kg the farmers would like to ask for, they range above the current price level of 8.00-9.00 TRY/kg.

Stabilising effect

The announcement of these prices now facilitates the calculation of the prices the traders and exporters are prepared to offer and the large gaps between the prices on offer (of up to 0.50 EUR/kg) over the last two weeks is now beginning to close.
