ORDU. With an estimated 71,000 mt of hazelnuts, the TMO returned to the market last week. The offered raw nuts come from the last four years and are priced between 13.00-18.00 TRY/kg.

Natural kernels to become more expensive
At around 58,000 mt, the majority of the TMO stocks originate from the 2017 crop year, although the quality of the product is rather mixed and is only partly suitable for sale as natural hazelnut kernels. Market participants assume that these kernels are therefore primarily mixed in by processors. From the current crop, combined with the estimated 4,000 mt of TMO, only 40,000 mt of hazelnuts in shell are expected to be available on the open market.

In total, hazelnut exports in 2018/19 are expected to reach 275,000-280,0
