ORDU. In Turkey, the hazelnut market has shifted into reverse mode with wide price gaps existing. There is wide room for speculations as to what way the market will turn in the second half of the season and who may have to pay the bill.

Wide price gaps

Ferrero has completed its purchases for the year and the market is silent before Christmas as buying has been completed. Yet, the industry is in turmoil over concerns as to how much damage the record high prices will create and speculations over stocks. Free market prices have switched to reverse with raw material prices dropping to TRY 250-260/kg and may ease further on the back of low demand and interest payments due at the end of the year.
