Hazelnuts: Turnaround expected

ORDU. Turkish hazelnut traders and processors are under pressure to sell, resulting in stable prices for raw nuts. At the same time, the lira reached a 2-month high last week.

 

Prices for raw hazelnuts set to rise
With interest payments due last week some traders and shellers were again forced to sell at lower prices. The growers are, meanwhile, continuing to demand higher prices and are only selling reluctantly for cash. The price level on the domestic market is expected to pick up again this week. Due to the stronger lira, overseas buyers should already expect more expensive offers.

Market giant Ferrero is stocking up on hazelnuts after raising the bid price to 12.25 TRY/kg. The TMO has, however, still not set an off
