India hikes import duty on Almonds and Walnut

India has also joined in ongoing trade war between America and China.

In recent times, after increasing import duty on Indian steel and aluminium in the USA, Indian government hike import duty of almond and walnut.

India imports a large amount of dried fruits and nuts only from the USA because India fulfils needs of almond and walnut mostly through imports.

According to Central Custom Bureau, the duty on almond was hiked to 54%, while that on walnut, the basic customs duty has been increased 100 percent from 30 percent. The Government has increased the duty on import of all types of walnut
