Millet: EU imports 20,0000 mt more French millet

KIEW/FRANKFURT. The US Department of Agriculture has once again revised its estimate for worldwide millet production downwards. Despite that, there are a few comparatively cheap offers for Ukrainian millet on the market.

35,000 mt less Ukrainian millet
For the third year in a row, millet production in Ukraine has declined and the product often has a high glyphosate content. This season prices have risen to more than 1.20 EUR/kg DDP Germany. However, there are now a few occasional offers on the European spot market starting at 1.05 EUR/kg EXW Rotterdam.

In 2018, deliveries of millet from the Ukraine to the EU fell from 50,000 to 15,000 mt. However, the lack of deliveries was not offset by deliveries from third countries but from France. In 2018 the country supplied almost 33,300
