Millet: Germany cuts back on imports

DALIAN/WIESBADEN. Farmers in China are reluctant to sell millet. Germany has slashed its imports from China by 20%.

Holding back

Hulled milled quotations rose sharply after Chinese New Year. While traders were ready to buy, farmers were rather reluctant to sell prompting supplies to become limited. Prices currently stand at USD 1,260/mt FOB Dalian for hulled millet and at USD 1,320/mt FOB Dalian for organic millet.
