DALIAN/KYIV. The Ukrainian Statistical Office updated its production estimates for the 2025 crop last week. In China, the New Year celebrations are causing moderate demand.

Significantly smaller crop in Ukraine

In most regions, millet supplies are sufficient, even though remaining stocks at local level are limited in some areas. At the same time, farmers are reluctant to sell, which means that the actual amount available remains limited.

Most processors in the growing regions are close to completing their orders. In some regions, however, grain traders built up stocks as they feared limited millet availability ahead of the Lantern Festival, which is celebrated this week to mark the end of the two-week New Year celebrations. Som
