NEW DELHI/PALMA. The INC published new production estimates for the 2025/26 season at its congress at the beginning of May. In India, traders are hoping for further price increases, while the weather in South America has created difficult conditions.

Prices in India could soon rise

The sharp price declines feared by market players on the Indian peanut market have not materialised for the time being; instead, export prices are holding steady compared to last week. The government's stocks have gradually been released for sale and so far around 150,000 mt have already found buyers. Market experts reckon that the government agencies will start the next round of sales with higher prices, which should drive up market prices; as a result, traders will probably buy more goods from farmers.
