Peanuts: further price falls are unlikely

NEW DELHI/REUS. The Indian peanut market is under pressure following the recent price declines and in the face of higher crop expectations. The INC has announced new estimates for global peanut production in 2026/27.

Higher crop expectations and weak demand

The peanut market has softened over the past three weeks, and a significant increase in yields is expected for the coming season, particularly in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Sufficient rainfall was expected in the key growing regions of Rajasthan, leading to an estimated increase of 30 to 35% there. Only in Gujarat is a decline of 10 to 15% expected.
