NEW DELHI. Peanut prices in India have declined again and there is little hope of a recovery in the near future. The prospect of reduced sowing for the coming season does not affect the outlook either.

High-quality goods are more in demand

Trade on the Indian peanut market has been limited over the past two weeks and prices are still falling. Market experts currently reckon that the price declines could continue for up to eight weeks. The governments of the individual federal states are gradually releasing their stocks for sale, but buying interest is still muted.
