Peanuts: uncertainty is hampering the market

NEW DELHI. The Indian peanut market is currently being affected by several factors. Uncertainties in trade with Indonesia, as well as increasing arrivals of the new crop, are creating a tense market situation. Following the price rises of recent weeks, the pressure is increasing.

Global uncertainty affects the peanut market

Although the peanut market has seen a positive price trend over the past two weeks, uncertainties in international trade are simultaneously mounting. In Indonesia, the government has announced that import and export transactions involving key commodities will in future be handled via a so-called “single gate” system.
