NEW DELHI. Thanks to the high quality of its produce, peanut cultivation in the Indian state of West Bengal is becoming increasingly important. Prices are continuing their current trend, while there are new developments in the field of crop protection.

Prices continue to rise

Indian peanut prices have been on a sustained upward trend for around two months, with a slight increase also observed this week. At the same time, however, there are signs of a gradual weakening of the market. The first deliveries of the new crop have already arrived on some spot markets, and a significant rise in arrivals is expected from mid-May onwards.
